China furniture exports from the January to April, 2010 amounted to $2,772, which is 37% higher than the first four months of last year. Exports to the US alone total $870 million, a 20% increase from 2009’s numbers over the same period.
Plywood exports by China to the US, Japan, Korea, the UK, United Arab Emirates have also increased. China’s major plywood exporting provinces are Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong, and Shanghai. Fireboard exports also increased during the first four months of the year, compared to 2009’s. The major fireboard exporting provinces of Jiangsu, Shandong, and Guangdong have increased exports to the US, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Japan, the UK, and the United Arab Emirates.
Exports of particleboard also increased by 30% compared to the numbers from January to April, 2009.
The furniture industry is once again gaining momentum after the economic crisis that started in 2008. Raw materials as well as finished products are growing in demand in more and more countries.
